And he [Jesus] saith unto them [the Pharisees and Herodians], Whose is this image and superscription [on the penny]? They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.
And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.
Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
For he [Jesus] shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife.
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
2 Timothy 2:19
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
1 Peter 1:18-19
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
[God speaking:] At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them. And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.
[God, to the children of Israel:] And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
Open rebuke is better than secret love.
An evil man seeketh only rebellion: therefore a cruel messenger shall be sent against him.
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him [Jesus], and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I [God] hate.
If ye abide in me [Jesus], and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me [Jesus] ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
By this shall all men know that ye are my [Jesus'] disciples, if ye have love one to another.
I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.
Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.
Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.
Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.
1 John 2:15
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
But I [Jesus] say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
Jesus said unto her [Martha], I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.
Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
For as by one man's disobedience [Adam's] many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one [Jesus] shall many be made righteous.
He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.
For they provoked him [God] to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.
What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
