Hal Lindsey's Bible Study on Revelation 22 -- September 5th Program Preview: Final Lesson on the Book of Revelation

Our journey through the Book of Revelation has been a magnificent one. No matter how many times I read it or teach it, I always see more than I ever saw before. Next week, I begin my new series, "The Coming of the Last World Superpower." But this week, we come to the climax of Revelation and of history. Believe me, you won't want to miss it!
When John was exiled to the Isle of Patmos, he was already an old man. He had faithfully served the Church for decades. He had lived through terrible persecution and remained faithful. His reputation among fellow Christians was flawless. In verse 8 [Revelation 22:8], he said, "I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things." In other words, this member of the Lord's inner circle of disciples, well-known for his honesty and wisdom, was an eyewitness to the events of this book. That's a special and unique endorsement.
On the program, we will talk about verse 12 [Revelation 22:12] where Jesus said, "Behold, I am coming quickly." This didn't mean He would come in a few days. He wasn't referring to the timing of His coming, but the manner of it. It will be with suddenness! For believers, the Rapture will be almost instantaneous.
In Revelation 22:16, Jesus makes the astounding and glorious statement, "I am the root and the offspring of David." In other words, He is both David's Creator and his offspring - a claim only possible for the One who is both God and man. And His position at the end of Revelation marks the fulfillment of scores of prophecies regarding the future great descendant of David.
This is only a taste of the things we look at as we go through Revelation's final chapter. It is an amazing finish to a book that only God could author.
